Assistant Director of Parks & Recreation

The City of Warrensburg is now hiring a Full-Time Assistant Director of Parks & Recreation. Under the general direction of the Parks & Recreation Director, the Assistant Director of Parks & Recreation assists in the planning, coordination, and management of the Parks & Recreation Department. The Assistant Director also reviews every aspect of the Department’s business operations for the purpose of improving processes to better serve customers and to make the Department more efficient. This position is responsible for developing and executing an effective communications strategy which enhances the public perception of the office and helps to convey the accomplishments and priorities of the Director, the Parks and Recreation Board and the City of Warrensburg. Additionally, this person will assist the Parks and Recreation Director in developing/implementing policies and procedures and administering the Department’s budget. Further, through participation in the Parks and Recreation Department, this member will function as part of a team, striving for continuous improvement of their functional areas, along with the Department, and the City as a whole. The Assistant Director serves as the Director in the absence of the Parks & Recreation Director.

Pay Range: $54,400.00- $82,750.00 annually (exempt)

Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Parks & Recreation /Leisure Services, management, business, marketing or a related field and two years or more experience; or a combination of education and/or experience.
